activities at Banana Island

Banana Island offers a wide range of leisure activities. For nature lovers, guided walking tours through the lush forest are not to be missed. However, the main draw is the water, featuring superb snorkeling, boating, sport fishing, scuba diving, water skiing, and various other water and beach sports. For the less adventurous, simply swimming and relaxing on the shore is highly rewarding. There are two main beaches on Banana Island: Banjoko Beach is more secluded and offers excellent snorkeling, while Big Sand Beach is more popular, offering beach volleyball and other games. The historical tours offered by Daltons Banana Guesthouse are also highly recommended; they provide a poignant glimpse into the island’s past, exploring landmarks from colonial times and revealing the dark role Banana Island played during the slave trade. Finally, whale-watching trips are a major attraction when in season.
